QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) is a nationally recognized, evidence-based suicide prevention training. The 60 or 90-minute offering is designed to train faculty, staff and students in how to identify common warning signs for suicide, how to have a compassionate and non-judgmental conversation with a distressed or suicidal student, and how to help the student access mental health support. As rates of anxiety, depression and suicidal ideation increase among our college students, these are important skills for us all!
QPR is offered at no cost and can be tailored to meet the professional needs of your team. If you are interested in hosting a QPR training for your department or class, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. QPR is also offered quarterly and can be found by accessing the WWU training page .
